another是指的另一个，对象的范围没有被限定，而 the other是指的两者中的另一个，所指的对象只能有两个。
比如说，有很多苹果，你要说另外的一个苹果的话就只能说 another apple 而如果说只有两个苹果 你要说另外的一个就用 the other
others就是范指了其他的人，the others也是限定了某个范围 是为了说对立的范围
others就是指其他人，但是如果要划定一个范围的话要表达一些人，，其他人，，就要用 the others 如 in Xiaoming's class, some say the answer is right ,but the others hold the opposite oppinion.还是指其他的人，除了some之外的人，但是有个范围是 in Xiaoming's class

一般来说 and 这个词的前后应该时态一致，但是这个题目有个陷阱。答案应该是：
I did stay at home and do housework yesterday.
原因是这里用了过去式的强调型，动词不是用 stayed 和 did，而是用 did stay 和 did do。英语的 and 允许相同的部分不重复，所以后面 did do 的 did 省略了。虽然前后还是一致使过去式，但是后一个空格填 do，不是填 did。这个属于特殊情况。
